Business Magazine Spring/Summer 2018

PUBLICATION Design · print Production · TYPOGRAPHY

The senior designer and I worked to get the College's bi-annual magazine finished on a tight timeline. It’s about 50-60 page publication. We worked with two writers and a photographer who provided the content. For this issue, we totally revamped the masthead and worked the type to compliment and showcase the amazing cover photo we had to work. It’s a University designers favorite time of year because we finally get to break out of the blue and gold and try out something new.

I learned how fast time can fly with one spread when there are a few stubborn widows or paragraphs a tad too long. Some pages were a challenge, but with that I learned a few tricks. I was also presented the challenge with a story that had not so great photos of a very brown, muddy construction site, so to spruce it up I threw the photo into lightroom and added some cool lines inspired by the building’s structure and suddenly it made it a bit more intriguing to look at. In collaboration with the Senior Designer, writers and photographers. Lead designer on the two feature stories and various spreads shared below.
